JUNE 2019 ~ American Airlines' Annual Shareholders Meeting
The Law Offices of Latham & Watkins LLP
885 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022
(Corner of Third Avenue and 53rd Street)
Only Shareholders or appropriately designated Proxy Holders are permitted in the actual meeting with the Board of Directors. You are considered a shareholder if you own
one (1) share of AA stock; we encourage you to attend.
Mary McKenna is the New York City AMRRC Divisional Coordinator for the AA Annual Shareholders' Meeting. Each year prior to the beginning of the shareholder meeting, hundreds of retirees gather in front of the Law Office of Latham & Watkins (corner of
Third Ave. & 53rd St.) to welcome all the shareholders, the board members, and Mr. Parker.
We always want to take the opportunity to let them know of our thoughts of the
D2R travel status for retirees.
Retirees (with a specified number of years of service) should have been grand-fathered
D2 travel status. AA senior management should be considering a much needed
grand-fathering of D2 status for retirees, as this may help AA to improve their standing
and corporate image within the retiree community. This would certainly catapult AA far above and well ahead of their competitors UA and DL.
Every single year (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018) since the change in retiree travel status from D2 to D2R; AMRRC retiree-shareholders have attended the annual meetings representing the concerns of retirees' benefits and pensions. If the retiree-shareholders were not in attendance the concerns of retirees would not be presented to the Board Members.
AMRRC retiree-shareholders will continue to be a presence at the annual meetings so we can bring the voices of all retirees into the AA Board Room. We must continue to bring forward issues impacting American Airlines, its employees, its customers, and its retirees.
The next SOTA Meeting for the 1st Quarter/2019 Financial Results will be held about the
last week of APRIL. We will post the date here, when announced by AA.
Quarterly financial results and the dates of quarterly earnings meetings can always be found on the American Airlines' Website - Financial Results.
