To notify AA of the passing of a Retiree, please call;

AA can help you with benefits and travel information and transportation of remains.
Shipment of human remains. AA provides confirmed space for the shipment of any team member's, retiree’s or eligible family member’s remains (see the Eligibility section above) between cities on the American Airlines system.
At this time, our regional carriers are unable to accommodate the shipment of remains. For additional information, you may email TLC@aa.com or call 800-852-3333 and speak with a TLC Specialist with the Cargo Department. You will need to contact the funeral home or mortuary to make the arrangements.
Note: The Company is unable to secure courtesy shipment of remains on other airlines. Team members, retirees or eligible family members are also allowed to carry on a crematory container provided Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening and the laws of the country of destination (if applicable) can be met.

Log on to the AA retirees' website.

Excess baggage rates do not apply to passengers traveling on A-9 passes.
No overweight baggage fees.

May check up to (5) bags with no fees.
A9 pass travelers DO NOT show up on the airport priority list when reservations are confirmed because the reservations are confirmed in 'H' Inventory.
If the A9 pass traveler wants to be listed for an upgrade; they MUST check-in with an airport agent to be placed on the airport priority list. The A9 pass traveler will be placed on the airport priority list with the code:

You can reset your password in (2) ways; both require you to log-in to the AA Retirees' Website.

C H A T O P T I O N
If you have forgotten your Password, you can reset it by clicking on the 'CHAT' option and then type responses with a help desk representative who will assign you a Temporary Password.
Prior to being connected to a Chat representative; you must provide the personal data requested. (These are not the challenge questions, but rather, personal data about you).
You will then be assigned a temporary password and you must log-in with the temporary password. You will then be asked to select (4) Challenge Questions before creating your new password.

If you have forgotten your password; it can also be reset by clicking on 'FORGOT PASSWORD'.
IMPORTANT --- When entering your Employee Number to select your (4) new challenge questions; you must use an 8-DIGIT employee number (which may require you to add leading zeros to your employee number to equal eight digits).
After you have selected new challenge questions, and after you have created your new password, and for future log-ins to the AA Retirees Website, you will only need to enter your actual employee number, even if does not equal 8-DIGITS.

Web Specials are reduced mileage AAdvantage Awards available on certain routes on certain days.
You do not call AA to book reservations OR to issue the ticket. Review the information below. These specials will pop up automatically when searching for AAdvantage award seats on a flight on aa.comaa.com

You will confirm your flights, pay any airport fees, or taxes applicable and request the ticket be issued at the time you are confirming your flights. When the fees are paid your ticket will be issued by aa.com
SEAT ASSIGNMENTS can be reserved at the flights are being booked.
20% DISCOUNT OF THE MILES USED
IS NOT APPLIED ON WEB SPECIAL ADV TICKETS AT THE TIME OF TICKETING. The mileage discount will be refunded to the Advantage account after travel is competed.
NO CHANGES TO ITINERARY
ADV Award Web Special tickets cannot be changed. The miles used to purchase the tickets can only be reinstated back to the mileage account from which they came.
REINSTATEMENT FEEFor AA employees & retirees there are NO reinstatement fees.
CLAIMING ADV WEB SPECIAL AWARD
You will claim the award and have the stated "web special miles" deducted from your account when you are confirming your flights.
THE MILEAGE DISCOUNT (20% of the miles used & any 'normal' baggage fees charged at the time of travel) are done AFTER travel has been completed.
After you have completed travel you need to call the WE-FLY-AA number to request that the 20% discount on the miles used for the web special award be reinstated to your ADV account.
If normal baggage fees of (2) free checked bags were charged they will be refunded by the ADV department when you request the 20% mileage discount for the web special ADV ticket. Excess baggage charges are never waived or refunded.

AAdvantage Mileage Award Ticket
Retirees are eligible for a 20% mileage discount on select MileSAAver and AAnytime awards for confirmed space travel on flights operated and marketed by AA. Confirm your reservations on AA.com. You can check (2) bags for free, as long as, they meet the dimensions and weight specifications for checked bags.
Award travel on ADV participating airlines & codeshare flights is not eligible.
SELECT "HOLD" RESERVATION OPTION. A PNR number will be generated.
Call We-Fly-AA to ISSUE TICKET and any fees applicable (on the discounted ADV ticket) will be collected when the ticket is issued.

PURCHASING AA20 TICKET
Retirees, including those at wholly owned carriers Envoy, Piedmont and PSA, are eligible to receive a 20% discount on American Airlines' published fares. Retirees can purchase a confirmed ticket with a 20% discount.
The AA20 designation allows you to check (2) free bags. The airport check-in system recognizes you as an AA20 traveler and will not charge the 'normal' check baggage fees when checking in at the self-service kiosk, or at the ticket counter.
Oversized and overweight baggage fees CANNOT BE WAIVED.
HOW TO CONFIRM THE RESERVATIONS & ISSUANCE OF TICKET
Confirm the reservations on AA.com
Put reservations on a 24-hour hold.
Call "WE- FLY-AA for issuance of the ticket.
You must purchase the ticket within 24 hrs. for ticket issuance by AA.
